We often hear about the "perfect" posture—sit-up straight, shoulders back, feet flat on the floor. But the truth is, no single posture is perfect for long periods. The best posture? It’s your next one.

Our bodies are designed for movement, not for staying locked in one position. Whether you're at a desk, on the settee, or standing at a workstation, the key to reducing discomfort and improving overall well-being is to move regularly.

Here’s why movement matters:

  • Reduces Stiffness & Pain – Staying in one position too long, even with "good" posture, can cause tension and discomfort.

  • Boosts Circulation – Movement helps blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients to your muscles and brain.

  • Improves Focus & Energy – A quick change in position or a short walk can re-energise you and improve productivity.

What can you do? Set reminders to stand up, stretch, or shift positions every 15-30 minutes. Alternate between sitting and standing. Walk while taking phone calls. Simple, frequent movement is more beneficial than holding a rigid posture. If you think about it, you will not hold a continual smile as it would start to hurt!!

So, stop stressing over perfect posture—just keep moving. Your body will thank you!

Stay Active, Osteo Steve

“…Having had my first course on the Tesla Chair I have found a notable difference in the stability of my lower back muscles.  The treatment is not painful and once you reach the highest settings you can really feel it working.  The added bonus with this treatment on having 30 mins peace to relax and read a book…” Emma P

“…for someone who has an enlarged prostate I found using the Tesla chair very helpful in reducing the symptoms I had been experiencing for several years. I definitely found the sessions beneficial & I will be going back for a ‘top up’ in a few months time…” Michael M
